 1970 Cadillac For Sale

Sedan Deville – 41k original miles – Purchased in 2012 by the current owner from the original owner’s grandson in Baltimore as a father/son project  (see details of work completed below) – Reliable Cadillac that runs and drives as new on four Diamondback radials with the correct white wall pattern (spare too) installed in 2020 – Asking $19,000 – For more information, contact Scot Minesinger at 703-283-2021 or send email – Car is located in Fairfax Station, VA

Exterior / Underneath:
Silver (normal patina for its age) with a dark blue vinyl top – A few dings on the sections below the body side moldings on rear quarters and some doors were repaired and repainted to match the original paint on the hood, trunk, rockers, front fenders and upper sections along doors and quarters – Original halo vinyl top is perfect with no bubbles – Frame and the floor pans were repainted in five coats of the undercarriage chassis black (looks new) – Fuel tank was dropped with the sender and gasket replaced and completely refinished – Steel brake lines and steel fuel lines were replaced – Brakes, master cylinder and all components were replaced – Four suspension springs and four shock absorbers were replaced

Mechanical:
An extensive mechanical restoration was completed, where every undercarriage and under the hood item (including floor and trunk pans) were refinished in the factory correct color but media blasted and powder coated, when possible (much more durable) – Under the hood was re-painted and the insulation was replaced – Hood latch was re-finished in the Cadillac Gold Eastwood quadruple finish process – Carburetor was replaced, valve covers were powder coated with new gaskets installed – Oil press switch was replaced – Thermal vacuum switch was replaced – Much of the engine and brackets were re-finished – Timing chain, water pump and fuel pump were replaced – Correct reproduction antique battery was installed with correct hold down lever – Transmission was resealed, the rear differential fluid was replaced and the gasket was changed

Climate Control:
Climate control components were all replaced (evaporator, heater core, etc.) and work perfectly – Converted to R134, so it is easily serviceable most anywhere (less expensively) but does not cool as well as R12 – Radiator and A/C condenser were replaced – Overflow coolant reservoir was replaced for cosmetics . Additionally, all the brackets, bolts, mechanical components, where possible, were media blasted and powder coated the correct Cadillac colors

Interior:
Seats started as cloth, but the foam dry rotted and had water stains, so it had to be replaced (I saved it) – Changed over to medium blue leather in correct pattern – Interior carpet was stained and the head liner was ripped, so they were replaced also to match original –  Rear window was resealed – Dark blue dash and door panels are original – Both of the rear door hinge plastic covers are original and in place and the original steering wheel is near flawless

Rubber Components:
All rubber was replaced including window door rubber, trunk rubber, cowl seal, hood stops (nine total), splash guards, hoses (fuel-front/rear, brake, coolant, vacuum, power steering, and etc.), belts and all suspension components (bushings front and REAR- a difficult job) – Body to frame bushings were replaced, as well as suspension ball joints, steering linkages and other components

Options:
Highly optioned with tilt/telescoping steering, passenger side mirror, leather with the wood inserts on four doors and passenger dash, power locks, working cruise control and climate control, six-way power seat, twilight sentinel, electric trunk release from glove box, rear speakers and rare trunk mat – High-back front seats include shoulder belts all the way across, so front middle passenger is comfortable

Engine: 472 cubic inches (7.7 liters) / 375 horsepower, 525 lb-ft torque at 2,200 rpm, 10 to 1 compression ratio, uses premium gas
Transmission: Turbo-Hydramatic (TH) 400 three-speed automatic with 2.93 differential
Brakes: Front disc, rear drum with dual master cylinder power brakes, vacuum assist
Steering: Variable power assist
Suspension: Four-wheel coil springs, front independent
Gasoline: 26-gallon tank, 15 mpg highway (avg. 70mph), 11 mpg city with premium gas
